Ms Anneka Ferguson is the Research Executive Officer for the Blue Economy CRC-Co Ltd.
Anneka is on secondment to the Blue Economy CRC from the University of Tasmania’s Office of Research Services. She has worked closely with researchers from a diverse range of disciplines in the development of high-quality funding applications, and was part of the team that supported Professor Irene Penesis in the successful Blue Economy CRC application to the Commonwealth’s Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Program.
Anneka was awarded a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in 2008, and has worked in both public and private industry roles throughout Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales. She was the Lead Ecologist for GHD Pty Ltd’s Tasmanian Operating Centre, and played a key role facilitating a successful Consortium Tender for more than $10 million-worth of funding for the Northern Tablelands region in New South Wales.
Anneka has over 10 years’ experience in project management, research and reporting, and currently co-owns and operates a small business in Longford, Tasmania, while working full-time for the Blue Economy CRC. She has a particular interest in working with industry, government, researchers and local communities to achieve improved environmental, social and economic outcomes – for Tasmania and beyond!
