Associate Professor Kosala Gunawardane

Associate Professor Kosala Gunawardane is currently a Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand.

She received the PhD degree in Power Electronic Engineering from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, in 2014. She is an IEEE senior member and the vice chair of IEEE Women in Engineering NZ north chapter.

Her research interests include Renewable energy applications, DC-microgrids, supercapacitor applications, low-dropout regulators and analog circuit design. Her research work has direct involvement in hands-on electronic circuit building and experimental verification where there is very limited representation of female researchers.

She was a finalist in the 2018 NZ Women of Influence in Science and Innovation category.
