INFRASTRUCTURE

The trial infrastructure represents cutting-edge marine engineering designed specifically for high-energy offshore environments.

Central to the site is a 4-pen bay mooring grid consisting of anchors, concrete mooring blocks, chain, connector plates, and ropes positioned on the ocean floor or at least 10 meters below the surface.

Nine grid can buoys hold the centre part of the mooring grid at a set distance below the surface, while two 120-meter circumference floating fish collars with raised handrails are attached via bridles to the submerged grid.

This infrastructure is designed to withstand the challenging conditions of the open ocean while maintaining optimal growing environments for the research species.
