Biography
Michelle is a marine biogeochemist as Auckland University of Technology, NZ. She has been studying and working on the assessment of anthropogenic stresses on benthic health since 2012. Her academic journey started with the assessment of organic enrichment impacts around shallow, coastal aquaculture sites in Nova Scotia, Canada. She later moved to Australia to study how future warming and ocean acidification affect carbon and nitrogen cycling in unvegetated estuarine sediments. Michelle’s appointment at AUT has brought her back to the area of aquaculture, where she will be working towards quantifying the depositional footprint of offshore fish farms.
