Our very own Blue Economy CRC Research Program Leader Professor Chien Ming Wang has been internationally applauded for his outstanding research, placing him amongst the world’s best.
Professor Wang has ranked 14th globally in the Stanford University Worldwide Survey, first in Queensland and second in Australia in a survey that analysed data for six million scientists across the globe. Prof Wang heads up the Blue Economy CRC Offshore Engineering and Technology Program and is currently the TMR Chair Professor in Structural Engineering at UQ.
His love for engineering was fostered at an early age, encouraged by his father who was a civil engineer. Following his study at Monash University, Prof Wang completed his Master of Engineering Science degree and PhD in just three years. He went on to a comprehensive 34 years at the National University of Singapore before taking up his current position at UQ and with the Blue Economy CRC.
The Blue Economy CRC would like to take the opportunity to commend Prof Wang on this outstanding achievement. We look forward to the innovative work Prof Wang will contribute to the Australian aquaculture industry.
