Autonomous marine systems at offshore aquaculture and energy sites

Making offshore fish farms and renewable energy systems safe and financially viable means a step-change in the adoption of new technologies. One important class of technology is autonomous marine systems that can perform monitoring and intervention activities in a reliable manner.

This project will combine a review of platform manufacturers with a study of the literature, and a focussed gathering of partners to develop a report detailing the horizons for achievable autonomy at offshore sites in the span of the CRC.

The report will be used to help operators to make informed investments in technology. The report will also identify international stakeholders and developers who may not currently be aware of the needs of offshore fish farms and tidal energy installations.
