Heidy Cruz, Research Fellow at the UQ School of Civil Engineering and member of the Blue Economy CRC research team is interviewed by Saskia Lim about biofouling challenges and her current research activities.

The Blue Economy CRC Research program staff were delighted to partner with the students at Carey Baptist Grammar School in Melbourne as part of the 2020 National Science Week activities. This year’s theme is Deep Blue: Innovation for the future of our oceans.

The process was designed to help students understand the importance of collaboration and cross-disciplinary cooperation in Science, to make them aware of the opportunities to develop their own careers in science and engineering and to contribute in a meaningful way to the sustainable management of our oceans.
