Di Maynard is an advisor within Marine Resources at NRE Tasmania. Following 25 years’ experience in marine industries, aquaculture management and environmental sustainability, Di is now contributing to emerging marine industries growth through research collaboration and regulatory systems development for the Tasmanian Government. The planning, regulatory and governance systems in Tasmania are well established for many species, however seaweed aquaculture is presenting some new challenges and opportunities particularly in the environmental interaction and seaweed health spheres.
