Zac Waddington

Fish Health and Welfare Manager
New Zealand King Salmon
Zac Waddington is a Canadian-trained veterinarian with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (Honours) from Western College of Veterinary Medicine. He has specialized in aquatic medicine for the past 8 years, with a strong emphasis on salmon. He has undertaken specialty training in aquatic medicine to receive the honorific of Certified Aquatic Veterinarian by the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association in 2019.
He previously worked as the Lead Aquaculture Veterinarian for the Canadian federal government on the west coast of Canada. Zac moved to New Zealand with his family in February of 2021 and after a lovely holiday in MIQ began working for NZKS in March. Zac is an avid outdoorsman, but a terrible fisherman; therefore he has elected to focus his efforts towards fish which can’t escape from him.
