Project meetings
Carnegie Clean Energy
Carnegie Clean Energy is the owner and developer of the CETO Technology, which harnesses the enormous untapped energy present in our ocean’s waves and converts it into grid-ready electricity. https://www.carnegiece.com/ceto-technology/ Named after a Greek sea goddess, CETO offers the potential to revolutionise renewable energy production globally.
At Carnegie’s unique Wave Energy Research Facility in Fremantle, visitors will be given the opportunity to experience demonstrations of two projects developed in collaboration with the Blue Economy CRC and industry partners.
MoorPower
As the aquaculture sector moves operations offshore, accessing clean, and reliable energy presents new challenges. Carnegie’s MoorPower incorporates core components of CETO technology to address these challenges. The MoorPower demonstrator project will be visible at the Carnegie research facility.
Mooring Tensioner for Wave Energy Converters (MoTWEC)
Carnegie’s Mooring Tensioner project is tackling the challenge of converting wave energy into electrical energy in a cost-effective manner. Following successful commissioning, guests will be able to view the tensioner in operation in the research facility.
Visitors will also experience demonstrations of the CETO technology through a commissioned wave tank. View critical components of previous wave energy deployments and view the progress of current research and development projects.

UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA
UWA carries out strategic research in the oceans space, addressing its complex biological, physical and social challenges. Within ocean engineering, UWA is ranked 1st nationally and in the top 10 institutions globally. UWA hosts state-of-the-art experimental and research facilities, through which guided tours will be provided.
The National Geotechnical Centrifuge Facility is the busiest centrifuge modelling centre in the world – you will able to step inside a 10m centrifuge chamber.
The Australian National Facility for Oceans Gliders will take you on an underwater journey exploring and sensing the ocean environment.
The Coastal and Offshore Engineering Laboratory boasts wave and recirculating flow tanks for exploring ocean-structure-seabed interactions – you will learn about our projects in offshore renewables, oil & gas and nature-based coastal engineering.

Workshop: Developing data infrastructure for the Blue Economy
The ‘Data infrastructure design for Blue Economy’ project has kicked off and we are keen to bring stakeholders together in the preliminary design phase to present a draft conceptual design, get feedback on design features and share our approach for stakeholder engagement throughout the project.
BMT would like to encourage all workshop participants, project leaders, project participants who have an interest in shaping the needs of the data infrastructure to attend and provide input.
